Title: Beneath the Surface
This piece began in a moment of sensory pause — when I needed to feel still, rooted, and surrounded by something softer than thought. Created with concentrated Ranger inks, isopropyl alcohol, micro brushes, and Yupo paper, Beneath the Surface is part of a deeper conversation I’m always having with my nervous system: what do you need to feel safe right now?
The swirling forms feel organic and intentional—like sea anemones, petals in motion, or the slow unfolding of a memory. I use breath to guide each flow of color. That breath isn’t just for movement—it’s for regulation. For grounding. For returning to myself.
Living with autism and ADHD means the world can feel overwhelming and overstimulating in a thousand ways that no one sees. But this—this process, this quiet creating—it gives me space to express that inner complexity in a way that feels calm and free.
Beneath the Surface is a visual reflection of what it feels like to unmask, to soften, and to let healing happen one ripple at a time. It’s about the beauty you don’t always see on the surface—but that lives powerfully underneath.
