This painting was born in a moment of gentle recalibration. In a space held together by quiet and color, I guided each breath across the surface—letting the ink settle where it wanted, bloom how it needed. Created with concentrated Ranger inks, isopropyl alcohol, micro brushes, and Yupo paper, Soft Armor is the story of strength wrapped in softness.

The muted purples and subdued yellows in this piece echo my inner experience as a neurodivergent artist—how emotions can exist both powerfully and delicately at once. Every petal-like shape carries weight, yet feels like it could float away. That duality lives in me too.

As someone with autism and ADHD, overstimulation is part of my daily landscape. But here—here in this creative space—there’s only flow. I use breathwork to calm my nervous system and guide the ink’s movement. This is regulation through ritual. It’s me coming back to myself.

Soft Armor is a reminder that gentleness can be radical. That softness can still protect. And that beauty often blooms in the quiet moments no one sees.
